Rose Room With Special Guests Capella String Quartet And Konrad Wiszniewski
“Stupendous gypsy jazz, and a superb singer” (The Scotsman).
The hottest ticket in Scotland right now! Classy vintage swing and gypsy jazz played by a band that combines brilliant musicianship and warm personality. Fronted by fiddle player and sophisticated songstress, Seonaid Aitken, Rose Room recreate the excitement of Rive Gauche Paris of the 30’s and 40’s with Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt.
Tonight, especially for the Festival, they are joined by the sensational swinging saxophonist, Konrad Wiszniewski, and the String Quartet that backs all the stars, from Madonna to Rod Stewart, The Capella Quartet!
Inspired and influcended by Django Reinhart and the Parisian Bal Musette style, Vardo combine artistry, fun and feel-good music with palpable emotion and passion. Their live concerts are fuelled by fiery virtuoso solos that evoke images of romantic cafes, dance halls and sidewalks of Paris of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. With Calum McKenzie (bass), Dave Rattray (guitar), Kevin Murray (guitar) and George Carmichael (accordion).
